When I first saw the SIGMA BF I fell in love.

I've never seen a camera like it before. The simplicity. The rough elegance. And that feeling of quality. Just amazing! My first thought was that this would be the perfect camera to capture everyday moments with my family. And I was super excited when I got the chance to bring it with me on a family vacation to Dubai!

Getting to know the SIGMA BF.

Before we packed our bags and traveled across the world I got to play around with the BF at home. And the more I got to know it the more I fell in love. The BF is really not all about looks, its an amazing camera! Super simple to use - the menus are very easy to access and to understand. Its a very intuitive camera, even my 13 year old loved to use it! I love that you can change lenses, it gives room for creativity and really high quality images.

The camera I tested had a SIGMA CONTEMPORARY 35mm f.2 DG mounted, which was a very nice setup for how I wanted to test the camera. You can use any L-mount lens so you have many to choose from!  Another thing I really enjoyed was the built in filters that gives you beautiful unique images without using hours in photoshop. The images used in this Story is straight out of camera, the only thing that have been changed in some of them is the crop. Needless to say my first impression of this camera is all positive! 

Dubai here we come!

Normally when I travel I bring my mirrorless and my SIGMA 24-70 2.8 DG DN Art II and some other lenses just in case I need them for something. I pack extra batteries, loads of memory cards and cables. I always end up carrying a super heavy back pack and I almost never get my camera out. Its just too much work and I end up using my phone instead. My hope was that the BF could give me the easiness of using my phone, but the quality of my “big girl camera”. I started packing for our trip and all I needed to put in my bag was the BF and a usb-c cable for charging. Like.. what?! It almost felt like cheating! 

We had an amazing time in Dubai, we had lazy days in Down town and the Marina. We went dune bashing and drove ATVs in the dessert. We explored Abu Dhabi and the area around, and of course we had tons of fun in amusement parks! I would love to go back, Dubai truly is an amazing place! 

So, is the BF everything I dreamt of? 

The BF did not disappoint and I absolutely loved traveling with it! It takes no room, looks amazing as an accessory and is so easy to use. All the settings you need are in reach with one finger, and it turns on really quickly so you don’t have to worry about missing the moment. It does really well in both low- and bright light scenarios, and it produces really nice colours and high quality images. It is an amazing camera and it is perfect to capture all the everyday moments in life! It satisfies both my need to be creative as a photographer and the need to capture life with my family as a mom. 

The Sigma BF has both the looks and the brains - what more can you ask for?
